Sammy Cracks Aces

July 7th, 2008

LOL. Curtis raises the $50 blinds to $1000 — Sammy decides to make the call with the trays, flops the set — and cracks Anthony Curtis’ Aces.

Season 5 High Stakes Poker

June 2nd, 2008

Okay so I read about half a year ago that Season 5 of High Stakes Poker would be starting…. March of April 2008.

Now, today is June 2nd 2008, and guess what? No High Stakes Poker Season 5 yet… It got me thinking (and talking during our home game), and we decided that they’re probably holding back on us to RELEASE A MAYHEM OF A GAME once they do get it out.

They’ve tried to top the game every year, keeping the blinds ridiculously small, but as they’re is no cap it kept people coming. Sounds logical, but the players just counterfeited the baby-blinds by straddling (and double-straddling). Anyway, my guess is they’re going to at least have a Million-Dollar buy-in game, and they’re going to double the blinds, AND the antes.

We’ll see bigger pots, it’ll attract big pot players like Sammy, Daniel Negreanu, Jamie Gold or Eli Elezra, and it’ll be great TV.

GREAT TV. :D

I can’t wait.

Sam Farha Unpredictable T-Shirt

April 3rd, 2008

More Sammy merchandise, this time a very slick black T-shirt I got from the samfarha.com site. It’s actually very good quality — been washed a couple times and still fits like it should. I’m not in as good a shape I would want to be but the Large is perfect.

I’ve had great response from this shirt in cardrooms too. :)

(photos lost in server crash, sorry!)

(the shirt was in a casino yesterday, so it needs a good washin’, haha)

Sam Farha Card Protector

March 14th, 2008

I got this Gold Plated High Roller & Chips Happen Card Guard over at Sam Farha .com and as you can see in the pictures I have been using it quite regularly. :D It’s gotten me quite the response — and some matching donkey calls accompanied with “if you play like Sammy I guess you have thin air, no?” :D

(photos got lost in server crash — sorry!)

Pretty sharp, right?

Sam Farha Cursed in Heads-Up Event

March 7th, 2008

Sam Farha is unlucky in the NBC Heads-Up Championship. It’s amazing. He was drafted against Doyle “Dolly” Brunson, and was eliminated after an amazing run of bad luck…

Michael Craig wrote about it in his blog:

In fact, just after 2:50, Doyle moves all-in and Sam calls. It was Doyle’s FIFTH all-in of the match. Doyle has K-Q. Sam Farha, however, has A-Q. But Doyle catches a king on the turn and eliminates Sammy, who now seems cursed in this event.

Bleh suckouts, I bet Sammy was on DEAD TILT afterwards.

Sam Farha: Chips Happen Mug ^^

February 14th, 2008

Yay, it’s arrived! My brand new coffee mug will surely be an attention-grabber at work — seeing as poker isn’t as big here as it is in the US… People will mistake my Sammy-mug for some sort of new-wave nostalgia — but I’m so ready to explain. :D

My coffee just got better. ^^ (get yours at samfarha.com)

Sammy Gets Sucked out on in WSOP 2006

February 10th, 2008

Looking at this hand just pains me. As a No-Limit Hold’em playe, these are the kind of situations you dread — flopping a set, making your full house, and being up against quads… No way Sammy can escape this hand — pure torture. Unlucky. :)

Sammy looks so happy when he gets the call — I really do feel bad for ‘m. :)

Sammy Farha: “What goes around, comes around”

February 1st, 2008

Not the most exciting video from GSN I’ve seen, but worth a watch as you get a view of a somewhat nervous Sammy Farha before the game starts…

“Sometimes we all make mistakes, we’re not geniusses. But there’s players that have your number. You will never beat them. Even if you have the best out of it — or the worst of it. You can’t beat them. What goes around comes around.”

Anything But Giving Up

January 18th, 2008

I’ve been getting more and more response on the site — more people are letting me know they think this website is not just my quest, but also a nice tribute to Sammy.

I’ll be working hard to add more videos, more content and more links — to really turn this into a Sam Farha tribute too!

In the mean time, I’m OBVIOUSLY not giving up on my quest to go gambling with Sammy. Giving up never helped anyone. ;)

Sammy’s King High $500k all-in move, with the best hand!

December 25th, 2007

Now this is where Sammy shows his gamble, and his instincts. With the king high flush draw, he calls Patrick Antonius’ all-in, worth about $500k. Not only is that one of the most amazing calls I’ve seen with no pair (simply considering the numbers, obviously) — he actually has the best hand going in.

Patrick gets lucky when they run it 4 times, and the best hand ends up only taking 25% of the pot.

Too bad — but excellent poker by Sam Farha!
